This is one of the important steps in creating your blog or a blogging website. This is because if you are unsure about which topic or niche you want to start to work in, you will create a simple and generic website that might not be as valuable as you think.
Although I have developed several multi-niche websites, the ones that perform well are focused on a particular niche.
It also helps you to think about the name of your website or blog. For example, if you are thinking of writing about travel and tourism, you can choose your website name accordingly, or maybe you are a doctor and want to write about health, then you can choose a domain name that is more fit for your blog, like docshelp.com, etc.
But it is not limited to related names. I mean to see all around you, "Google" didn't mean anything to several people worldwide or maybe Yahoo!, it doesn't ring a bell about search or anything if you are listening to it for the first time. Still, they have managed to create their brand and now everyone knows what business Google and Yahoo! are in.
So, if you are going to write about something generic or multi-niche, you may like to pick a name that you can use comfortably for multiple niches. You can even choose something personal and then build a brand around it.
Start doing some research, because this is going to be one of the hard work in creating a blogging website.
You can do blogging on any blogging platform. For example, you can create a free account on Blogspot, WordPress, or even Medium.
If your goal is to just write articles, then you can use any of the free services out there, but if you want to make money with your blogging website, you will have to build your website in that case.
For this, you will have to choose from Godaddy, Hostinger, BigRock, or some other website hosting and domain name providers.
Although you can make money from free websites as well, paid websites give you much more control over every aspect of your website or blog, and hence you can customize it as per your own needs and brand requirements.
For this, we will take the example of Hostinger for now because I have developed a recent website on Hostinger, but you can choose anyone from the below list;
Now, once you go to Hostinger, you will be asked to choose a package. You can choose the lowest one if you want, but I think Business Plans are the best deals because you get good bandwidth you can even have 100,000 visitors at one time, which is good because you don't want your website to crash if your visitors' increase, which had happened to me when I used Godaddy in past, as they only provide 512 MB of Physical Storage.
So, once you have selected a package, understand that cost will increase because taxes will be added and now you will be asked to select a domain.
So, you can just check if your domain name is available and purchase the same. If you need any help you can connect with their customer care or can even ask anyone in our community chat room.
Here you can even ask for help in our community chat room or to customer care through their chatrooms. They can help you create a blogging website by installing WordPress, which you can use to post content to your website.
If you like to work on your own HTML and PHP codes, then you can just go to hpanel browse the file manager, and go to the public_html folder, where you can create a file named "default.php" or "index.php" which will be your root file or the landing page or some also say the home page of your website.
Don't forget to share your blog or website with us in the comments section below. We would like to see how you did.
This was an example of how to create your blog or website using Hostinger, but you can also do the same with Godaddy or some other domain and hosting provider.
Understand that when you purchase your domain and hosting for the first time, it takes some time to verify the same and you can make the process fast by contacting customer care directly which verifies the websites faster for you.
