Hey there!

I know why you’re feeling this way, but it’s time to shift gears and change the narrative. You’re constantly extending grace to your friends when they stumble, but when you make a mistake, you become your harshest critic. You overspend at Target, overdraw your account, or mess up your budget, and immediately, the self-doubt creeps in. “I’ll never get it right,” you think. You’re frustrated, defeated, and on the verge of giving up. Why even try if failure seems inevitable, right?

But here’s the thing: you need to keep trying.

Think about it—do you have kids? Remember when they were toddlers, learning to walk? They’d pull themselves up, take a wobbly step, and inevitably tumble back down. They’d try again, and again, and again. Did you yell at them for falling? Did you get frustrated and tell them they weren’t meant to walk? Of course not!

Instead, you encouraged them with love and patience, knowing that each fall was part of the journey. Over time, those repeated attempts turned into walking, then running, then playing soccer, and before you knew it, they were racing ahead. All of that progress came because you let them fail, over and over, until eventually, they didn’t fall anymore.

Failure isn’t the enemy. It’s a teacher. Every time you stumble, you learn something valuable about what doesn’t work. This trial and error are how you build the skills to succeed. Your child needed to master sitting, standing, and balancing before they could walk confidently. You, too, need to take it one step at a time when learning to manage your finances or any other challenge you face.

Just like walking wasn’t mastered in a day, handling your money won’t be, either. It takes time—sometimes a lot of time. But if you throw in the towel now, you’ll never gain the skills you need. You’ll spend your life stressed about money, losing sleep, and wondering what could have been. That’s not the life you want, is it?

This journey isn’t easy. It’s overwhelming, frustrating, and often feels impossible. But here’s the truth: you can fail and still succeed—as long as you don’t give up.

So, I need you to dig deep, push through the discomfort, and keep going. It’s okay to fall short sometimes. It’s okay to make mistakes. But it’s not okay to quit. The only way to truly fail is to stop trying.

And I know that’s not an option for you.

Let’s keep moving forward. You’ve got this!
